The world is illuminated with light and painted by the unique eye of its artist. I am often captivated by art and love seeing how others see the world before them. The expression of talent mixed with vision is beautiful as it culminates into a realized art piece. Madison was one of our recent seniors that I was able to photograph for the 2020 year. Like all of the seniors I work with, I love having our initial planning meeting. It’s here that I begin to find out who the senior is and what they enjoy and want to include in the session. As we planned Madison’s session, I asked that question…”what would you like to include”. There was some conversation about cheer and reading, and a brief mention that she dabbles in painting a little but nothing detailed. So i probed a little bit, “tell me about that”. Come to find out, Madison is an ultra talented artist and has a natural ability to see the colors and form on canvas without having formal training. Amazing! During the rest of the session we were able to come up with some beautiful images that showcased Madison during her senior year. I hope you enjoy them! If you’ve got a senior or upcoming senior, reach out to me and let’s chat about how I can provide the with beautiful senior images.
Wes Roberts Video: Rebuild Pros
WES ROBERTS VIDEOCommentThis is something I tried to stay away from. Mostly from fear of not knowing what to do or how to even go about it, but I guess that’s why God has geared us with certain abilities to figure things out. When everything shut down back in March, our church went into an all virtual attendance format, which meant that everything that our congregation interacted with was now in a digital format of some sort. I had already been making announcement videos and handling the live stream but this move it amped everything up multiple notches. I had to jump deep into learning more about Adobe Premier, producing/directing a live event with multiple camera angles, program formatting (similar to how you watch a television show), and a number of things I would have never stepped into. I went from a comfortable photography knowledge to something which was way above my skill and knowledge level. So right now, I give the glory to Jesus for leading and seeing me through this.
As we moved into a new message series titled “REBUILD” a study on the Book of Nehemiah, we wanted an intro video before each message that would be fun but still point towards the theme of the message. I’m so thankful for my team of idea thinkers and people in our church who are willing to act in front of the camera to make this happen. The episode is based on the HGTV renovation shows that air and focus on the building adventures of Mike the Rebuilder as he tries to meet his client’s needs and gives glory to God at the same time.
If you’d like to check out the “REBUILD” message series you can view them here. There will be more episodes to come.

Wes Roberts Seniors: Tahj
WES ROBERTS SENIORSCommentSince my last post on here, which has been well over a year and heading closely to two, we have encountered a lot as a world, a nation and being human. I’m not going to say much about how the 2020 year has been, outside of one word…”speechless”. That said, I’m going to jump right in to the post.
During the summer I had the pleasure of meeting with and photographing Tahj. He’s the son of some dear friends of ours who have been a blessing to our lives. One thing I love finding out as I prepare to photograph seniors is what they are into. Being able to incorporate these into a session adds to the fullness of a senior’s life as you look back at that point in time. From a photographers stand point, I get to be challenged to photograph this idea in a different way and make it unique. For Tahj, our conversation on his interests pointed us to his love for hip hop dance and anime. I’ve shot dance before for a local dance studio which was more on the formal side, so now I got to use a little creativity with lights to make something unique. In addition Tahj, also runs track, so I wanted something that was going to be more of a commercial look. So, here’s what we came up with.
Here’s to your future Tahj; may the Lord bless you!
